William G. Koonz II is a registered architect, certified lighting designer and LEED accredited professional with M+W Group. M+W Group focuses on the technical side of the architecture world, with clients in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, university, and military market sectors. At M+W Group, William is one of the company’s senior architects, senior lab planner, sole company lighting designer and senior LEED AP. With his roles, he works to lead some of the many technologically challenging projects within M+W throughout the world. Most recently, William was the architect, in charge of construction and LEED AP, for the GLOBALFOUNDRIES FAB 8.1 complex, in Malta, NY. Over the course of his career, William has focused on providing quality design, from both a technical and aesthetic view, to his clients in all market sectors. The need to improve the status of architecture in the community through better design is one of his overall goals. Whether that is through practice, training young professionals or community and professional outreach, Mr. Koonz has been driven by this passion throughout his career. In addition to his professional experience, Bill is a sitting member of the exam committee for the National Council for the Qualification of the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) and a past president of the local chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES).
