Zaida Basora, FAIA is Assistant Director of Dallas Public Works. She is a registered architect and sustainability advocate with over 30 years of experience in public policy, planning and design. She has led and championed both the LEED green building program implementation for the City since 2003, and the development, adoption and implementation of the Dallas green building and construction codes since 2008. Her work has been recognized with the Building Officials Association of Texas (BOAT) 2008 award of excellence for extra large jurisdictions and a 2009 CLIDE Award in the public policy and planning category. As a recognized green building expert, she was appointed to the GSA’s Office of High Performance Green Building's Green Building Advisory Committee, and serves as Vice chair of the Codes and Standards committee of Dallas AIA and as a member of the Texas Society of Architects Sustainability Committee. She was elected to the AIA Coll ege of Fellows in January of 2012.
