The Dinerstein Companies, a real estate and development firm based in Houston, Texas. Since 1955, The Dinerstein Companies has been dedicated to providing high quality student housing, and to date they have developed and managed over 34,000 beds at 44 major U.S. universities, making the firm the largest developer of collegiate residences in the nation.
The Dinerstein Companies has made a corporate commitment to sustainable design in all markets they serve. All new projects are designed and constructed to a LEED Silver level of certification or higher. This commitment not only embraces the environmental benefits of green building and sustainable design, but its economic and health benefits as well.
The green initiatives of the Alvarado Road Apartments project beautifully express this commitment to sustainable design. The most significant green successes of this project include its location on a high-density, urban infill site known for its walkability, connectivity and proximity to San Diego State University as well as to all kinds of urban transportation, and its achievements in energy efficiency, healthy indoor air quality and water-use reduction.
