LEED BD+C: New Construction v2009
Bay Area Chinese Bible Church
LEED Silver 2012
The Bay Area Chinese Bible Church pursued LEED for New Construction (NC) Silver certification as part of their pursuit of environmental responsibility and uplifting their community.
The Bay Area Chinese Bible Church (BACBC) is a religious organization that encourages its members to look beyond themselves and be part of the larger global community. With this holistic perspective, its worship services are conducted in Mandarin, Cantonese and English, and fellowship is propagated through youth groups, seniors, global missions, athletic leagues, and through the Chinese Language School.
Truly stretching beyond a single-purpose building to a multipurpose community facility, the BACBC serves as a worship center and a childcare facility, and also serves as a classroom and gymnasium for the adjacent K-12 schools.
One of the largest Asian churches in the San Francisco Bay Area, the BACBC consists of two campuses. The new, single-level building is 30,231 square feet and is located on a campus setting. The BACBC pursued LEED for New Construction (NC) Silver certification as part of their pursuit of environmental responsibility and uplifting their community. The project was completely funded by the generosity of its own church members—a collaborative effort towards a healthier community space.
