Environmental Quality Space Type Matrix

LEED version: v2009
Excel doc

This spreadsheet categorizes spaces for applicability to the LEED 2009 Indoor Environmental Quality credits. Exceptions to these classifications will be accepted on a case-by-case basis for spaces with atypical uses or those in which strategies required for compliance may compromise the function of the space. This is not an exhaustive list. If a space is not listed, project teams should try to find a similar space type and follow that guidance. (4/1/2013).

The latest version of the spreadsheet, 4/1/2015, was updated from the October 2013 version to address three items:

  • Requirements for dorm rooms and sleeping/areas barracks were clarified: modified credit scope description in General Credit Guidance tab for IEQc6.1 / IEQc6.2 /IEQc6 (CS); modified note 17 in Notes and Definitions tab.
  • Added guidance for O+M residential spaces: modified credit scope description in General Credit Guidance tab for IEQc2.2; modified O+M Matrix tab, Municipal buildings-police and fire, Sleeping areas/barracks and Residences, dorm room for IEQc2.2; added note 18 to Notes and Definitions tab.
  • In the O+M Matrix tab, Offices, break rooms was fixed for IEQc2.1 (column M) from Y to N and IEQc2.2 (column N) from N to Y.
