Greenbuild Residential Summit - Recap

The second-annual Greenbuild Residential Summit was a smash success in Phoenix this year, with over 1,000 attendees taking part in the special two-day event. Our 15 focused educational sessions were bookended this year by star-studded panel discussions of how the homebuilding industry is implementing green building practices in new homes, and the importance of continuing to push for green retrofits of existing structures.

If you weren't able to join us for Greenbuild Residential Summit this year, you can view the Residential opening plenary session in full on www.GreenbuildExpo.org. Or, purchase the full Summit Proceedings today!

USGBC Affordable Housing Summit

For the fifth year in a row, The Home Depot Foundation, The Oak Hill Fund and USGBC sponsored a two-day Affordable Housing Summit. This year’s Summit included panel discussions on green retrofits of existing affordable developments, as well as transit-oriented development and other timely topics. Attendees also toured green affordable housing developments around Phoenix.

Thank you to all of our attendees for making this event a success! If you missed this year’s summit, presentations and more information are available here.

2010 Natural Talent Design Competition

USGBC's 2010 Natural Design Competition, in partnership with Salvation Army’s EnviRenew Initiative, will focus its sights on the rebuilding effort in New Orleans, Louisiana. Competitors will design a LEED for Homes project that is affordable and functional for elderly occupants.

Designs will be selected from the local competition finalists to be showcased at the 2010 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo in Chicago and, for the first time, the projects will be constructed in New Orleans, LA, and will compete in a measurement and verification phase. The design team whose home performs best during measurement and verification will be awarded the final grand prize.
