The Arizona State Conference, hosted by USGBC Arizona, is the flagship green building event in the state, uniting over one hundred industry leaders, experts and professionals dedicated to sustainable and efficient buildings.
The 2018 conference, now in its seventh year, will take place October 30 at the Tempe Center for the Arts in Tempe, Arizona. It will feature a keynote, educational programming, an engaging exhibit area, a happy hour, networking and a human foosball tournament. Attendees can earn GBCI and AIA continuing education credits at this event.
This year's theme, "Prove it: The Power of LEED Certification," will focus on the value of third-party certification and the differences between certified projects and “all but certified” ones. Attendees will learn how transparency, ongoing operations and LEED certification ensure that sustainability goals are achieved.
USGBC Arizona is excited to announce Todd Gamboa, President of Building Trust LLC, as the keynote speaker this year. He is a building science expert, sales trainer and public speaker. He has educated thousands of builders, architects, contractors, product representatives, code officials, appraisers and REALTORS® across the country.
Gamboa can attest to the value of third-party certification systems. His expertise in professional development and training increases the capacity for builders to send a clear message to the marketplace—that collaboration, transparency and high standards are achieved through the use of third-party certification systems, such as LEED.
Often, there are questions from building owners on the LEED process and the cost of certification and materials. These questions can sometimes prevent developers and builders from pursuing LEED. Todd helps to fill in those knowledge gaps to bring understanding into the decision process, thereby creating more opportunities for the green building industry.
