The forum, held separately from the conference, will focus on government collaboration to advance energy-efficient construction.

USGBC is working with WRI, WRI Mexico, and SUMe to host a one-day Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA) event on June 19, 2018, in Mexico City. The day will bring together public- and private-sector representatives to explore the nexus between national and subnational governments in advancing energy efficiency in buildings.

The BEA is a public-private collaboration with the goal of turning global expertise into action to accelerate local government implementation of building efficiency policies and programs. This forum, sponsored by Johnson Controls, will feature a specific focus on opportunities for national governments to enable finance opportunities and pathways for subnational governments to take action that increases the efficiency of their public and private buildings.

The setting of Mexico City, on the site of Greenbuild Mexico at Camino Real Polanco Mexico, is fitting, since Mexico City was one of the first cities to commit to the BEA, and the Mexico national government is deeply engaged in building efficiency as a part of its climate action plan.

Although held on-site at Greenbuild Mexico, this event is separate from the conference and requires a different registration. To apply for an invitation, please submit an interest form. For more information, please contact Grant Olear.
