The market for green buildings in China continues to show tremendous growth at a time when public attention has begun to focus on air quality concerns across China’s major cities. Chinese business leaders have been looking to innovative solutions such as LEED to help solve their country’s indoor and outdoor air quality issues.

CBRE has put its substantial expertise in LEED to good use in the Chinese metropolis of Shenzhen (population of 10.6 million) by certifying two existing buildings for Kerry Properties Limited. Both projects, Shenzhen Kerry Plaza Phase I and Shenzhen Kerry Plaza Phase 2 were certified LEED Platinum in just under a year, brining the total number of Platinum certified projects in China’s fifth largest city to three. Kerry Properties Limited is a major proponent of green buildings and sustainable design, and once again is demonstrating its leadership, environmental stewardship and role in enhancing and transforming the built environment. My congratulations to Kerry Properties and CBRE on this remarkable achievement.
