We want to share the news that on Monday, December 3rd, The Rudin Family was honored at Global Green USA’s 13th Annual Sustainable Design Awards with the Green Building Design award for the redevelopment of One Thirty West 12th Street. For more information on the event you can visit Global Green’s page.

We are also thrilled to share the news that One Thirty West 12th Street has been awarded LEED Gold certification by the USGBC within the category of New Construction & Major Renovations. Rick Fedrizzi, President, CEO and Founding Chair of the USGBC, recognized this notable achievement by presenting the LEED Gold plaque to The Rudin Family in New York City.

"The 130 W 12th street LEED Gold project represents a quantum leap forward for a pre-war existing building," said Rick Fedrizzi, President and CEO of the U.S. Green Building Council. "True leadership is doing the right thing when no one is looking, and although the exterior of this 1940's structure looks much like it did decades ago, its technological advancements and environmental performance are stunning. The multi-generational Rudin family sets a high bar for the future of New York's existing building stock, and they all should be very proud of what they have accomplished."

Originally constructed in 1941, 130 West 12th Street is a refined, sustainable design that blends the best of existing pre-war elegance with a modern vision of the luxury apartment home. The Greenwich Village residences feature bespoke details including chevron patterned hardwood flooring, custom cove and casing elements, and custom cabinetry, hardware and lighting fixtures. Refined for contemporary life, the building was reconstructed to incorporate high-performance mechanical systems. Strategies of the LEED Gold certified building include custom UV filtering casement windows, 95% filtered fresh air, 40% more efficient four-pipe fan-coil systems, and a cogeneration plant that provides clean, efficient power for 50% of the building’s annual energy requirements.

Congratulations to the Rudin family for their accomplishments, and thank you for allowing us to share this exciting news!
