Join hundreds of sustainability professionals from across the Washington, D.C. region for our community’s premier social event of the season: the Green Tie Affair. This annual winter celebration regularly brings together 350 of the most informed and influential individuals in green building for networking and delicious food and drink. We are thrilled to announce that this year’s event will take place at the Embassy of Finland—the first LEED Platinum embassy in the United States. Proceeds from this year’s event will go toward education, advocacy and community outreach efforts in the coming year.

When: Thursday, Feb. 25, 6:00–9:00 p.m.

Where: Embassy of Finland, 3301 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20008

Winter evening cocktail attire, particularly attire that includes the color green, is encouraged at this event. We’ll have a prize for the best green tie and best green dress of the evening. The embassy's chef and catering team have put together a menu of traditional Finnish fare made from local ingredients.

Tickets are only $50 for USGBC-NCR members who register before the early bird deadline of February 11. After the early bird deadline, member tickets are $75. Nonmembers may purchase tickets for $75 any time. Due to security restrictions at the embassy, registration for this event will close on February 19. Please note that refunds will be available only until Feb. 11, minus a 20 percent administrative fee.

Sponsorship opportunities are currently available. Sign on early to get the maximum amount of exposure leading up to the big event! Contact Emily English if interested.
