We will discuss the topic from several different perspectives including the developer perspective, the engineering perspective and the construction perspective.

  1. What are the most common sustainability requirements for affordable housing developers in California? CTCAC and CDLAC have minimum sustainability requirements as well as more aggressive requirements for competitive funding programs.
  2. What have been some of the successful strategies in complying with these requirements. This will include a few case studies.
  3. What have been some of the pitfalls and lessons learned? This will include a few case studies.
  4. Looking to the future, what are the sustainability challenges and opportunities for the affordable housing development?
