5 Ways to Green Your Home: Transportation

GBCI: 0920013507

This course is presented in an ARTICLE format.

We love our vehicles, and we are willing to pay just about any price for gas and maintenance. Whether going to work, running errands, or visiting friends, it’s natural to hop into the car or truck and merrily head down the road. However, like most decisions in life, in addition to the financial costs of vehicle ownership, there is an environmental price to pay as well.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, 34% of all the driving trips we make are less than one-half mile. An additional 34% only go between one-half and two miles. Many are made with only one person in the car—the driver. Consider this: most people can walk a half-mile in under ten minutes, and do it in even less time on a bicycle. Join us as we discuss environmentally friendly choices related to transportation. Explore green energy and renewable energy options for homeowners
