About

Multimedia and other creative outlets serve as dynamic platforms to tell important stories, reach new audiences, and inspire discourse. For the Gulf South region and other communities navigating water, land, and climate change issues, the ideas of community resilience are often best explored at a local level and through a creative lens. This panel features filmmakers, storytellers, and artists who use the creative lens to tell stories of resilience, recovery, and community determination.

Objectives

  1. Discover ways creative outlets serve as mechanisms for seeding community conversations about resilience.
  2. Understand how film leverages the power of storytelling to deliver compelling messages about resilience and disaster recovery.
  3. Learn about the process of filmmaking as it relates to sustainability and resilience.
  4. Think creatively about how to use filmed and other methods of storytelling to reach new audiences.
