The launch of the newest version of LEED has brought about some changes in the residential building sector. Are you prepared for LEED v4 Homes? Join Emily Vella as she looks at the effects of these changes as well as dives into the credits and requirements that pertain to residential buildings going for LEED certification under v4. This course is part of GBRI’s Elements of a Green Home: LEED v4 Home Essential Series. The intent of this series is to familiarize you with the credits and requirements that pertain to residential buildings going for LEED certification. Gain insight into implementation strategies and techniques to earn credit with the new LEED rating system. Whether you are new to LEED or a practicing professional, this course series will help you understand LEED V4 as it applies to residential construction.
We have organized this 6 hour series into six-1 hour installations that represent the elements:
1. Location & Transportation, Sustainable Sites
2. Water Efficiency
3. Energy & Atmosphere
4. Materials & Resources
5. Indoor Environmental Quality
6. Innovation in Design and Project Case studies (LEED and LBC)
This course series can be taken as a whole or partially to earn credit for GBCI and AIA. We hope that you will find all of these sessions informative, and come away with some great ideas for greening your residential projects

Objectives

  1. Become familiar with project classification and requirements for Homes within LEED v4
  2. Understand requirements of prerequisites and credits within LEED v4 (IEQ) as it applies to residential buildings going for LEED certification
  3. Learn strategies, methods and techniques that the project team can use to earn credits under IEQ within LEED v4
  4. Evaluate the advantages of a green home over a code built home
