About

Engineers Henry Johnstone, Joyce Kelly, and Stanley Yellowhair of GLHN Architects & Engineers will describe their role in the ENR2 building design processes, from early concept through final commissioning and building occupancy. Operational and innovative strategies used to achieve LEED Platinum will be outlined. First year energy measurement and verification data will be compared against the design period energy model, and conclusions drawn on the level of efficiencies in modeling. A detailed breakdown of the annual Energy Use Intensity (EUI) will demonstrate areas where the building is exceeding expectations along with those where additional opportunities exist. The presentation concludes with a summary of lessons learned.

Objectives

  1. Participants will gain an understanding of the level of intensity of cross-discipline collaboration necessary to design and document a USGBC Platinum building of this type.
  2. Participants will learn how practical application of whole building energy modeling translates into actual building energy use intensity through side by side comparison.
  3. Participants will describe the structural components of performance measurement and verification data.
  4. Participants will discuss and share fundamental lessons learned during this project
