Objectives

  1. Describe several groundbreaking investments aimed at low embodied carbon materials, including funds for Federal low carbon materials procurement and an EPA fund to support environmental product declarations.
  2. Discuss how public and private stakeholders can access and benefit from these investments.
  3. Summarize programs in the Inflation Reduction Act that can be deployed to decarbonize buildings and support green infrastructure and landscapes.
  4. Locate funding for code adoption, implementation, stretch codes and net zero code in both the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the IRAIdentify opportunities for design professionals to support their local communities in pursuing funds for climate mitigation.
