About

The Le Bonheur Facility Office Building achieved LEED Silver Certification in August of 2017. The Faculty Office Building's design utilizes green building strategies including use of low flow fixtures that reduce potable water use to 41% below code; the installation of outdoor airflow devices and CO2 sensors; and a 98% waste diversion rate during construction. In recognition of their LEED certification achievement, the Hospital received a grant award from Memphis Gas Light and Water.

Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital was founded in the 1950s as the initiative of a group of women who advocated for children to have a special place to receive medical care. The hospital's mission is to accept any child in the community who needs treatment, regardless of their family's financial status. The hospital system is committed to building sustainability, ensuring an energy efficient and healthy environment for staff and patients.
