8:05-9:05 a.m. Plenary Session: Driving the Evolution of Green & Affordable - Krista Egger & Alistair Jackson, Enterprise Green Communities

The plenary session will set the stage for the conference, looking first at the evolving meaning of "green" in affordable housing, and of what constitutes affordability - to homeowner or renter, to building owner, LIHTC investor and public funder. Where "green" has traditionally been seen as "good for the environment," it has evolved to encompass all aspects of Sustainability; as much focused on occupant health, community resilience and financial sustainability as on resource conservation and pollution prevention. Krista Egger will speak to how Enterprise Green Communities and USGBC/LEED are helping to foster this evolution with emerging strategies and new models, including real examples here in the State.
