Take a walking tour of the new LEED certified ASU Bio Design C and ASU Student Pavilion buildings. The tour will address the various tools and processes used in getting these LEED projects certified. This one-hour tour will be followed by networking at Tapacubo Rooftop Bar. 

Biodesign Institute Building C

This new, multi-functional research facility will meet the university's growing need for additional laboratory space to secure and perform high-quality research.  Biodesign Institute Building C will include state-of-the-art research support space designed specifically to promote and enable the creation of cutting-edge research clusters. The facility’s design will leverage the university’s investment to maximize the opportunities for research growth. Biodesign C, which will be located just to the east of Biodesign B on the Tempe campus, is a five-story-plus-basement complex. The building will include laboratories, lab casework and office layouts that will feature maximum flexibility, adaptability, and expansion based on needs.  Biodesign C will house research from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, and the Biodesign Institute. It will provide high-quality wet lab space for chemistry, engineering, and the biological sciences.  The building is designed to meet specifications for LEED Silver at a minimum, with intentions of achieving a higher certification.

ASU Student Pavilion

The new 74,653 square foot Student Pavilion is situated at the nexus of student activity and student traffic. It is a student-centric facility managed and operated by students with Memorial Union resident staff oversight. The hub of the building will be a new event space, which will provide the venue for guest lecturers, musical shows, comedy acts, and student productions with seating for 1,200. The event space will also include movable partitions to allow subdivision of the space into three smaller event/meeting rooms. The second floor will house office space for student government and student organizations, university classrooms and other academic functions will be located on the third floor. The goal for the Student Pavilion is to be a Net Zero Energy Building; a showcase of the University’s goals for Climate Net Neutrality and sustainable building systems. The building is designed to meet specifications for LEED certification.
