Jumpstart your Saturday by volunteering with Trees Atlanta and the USGBC Emerging Professionals as we remove privet from a local park! There are limited spots available, so register ASAP on eventbrite.

Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Please arrive on time for a 10-minute demonstration. Volunteers are asked to stay for the entire length of the project.

Location: Grove Park Rec Center - meet at the back of the building

Parking: Parking is available on-site. If you are taking public transportation, the park is about 0.8 miles from the Bankhead MARTA station.

Dress Code: Wear close-toed shoes or boots (waterproof if possible), long pants (no leggings or athletic wear), sunscreen and bug spray.

Know before you go: Forest maintenance is hard work, so make sure you eat a hearty, nutritious breakfast. Bring a snack and drinking water in a reusable container, no one-time-use plastic bottles, please!

Projects happen rain or shine, so please check the weather beforehand and come prepared.

Trees Atlanta will provide all necessary tools and instruction, though volunteers may prefer to bring their own work gloves.

This project is best for ages 12 and up. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and all volunteers between the ages of 16 and 17 who are not accompanied by a parent/guardian must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver for them (found here).

Please contact Matt Simpson, Co-Chair of the USGBC Atlanta Emerging Professionals, or (310) 975-4158 if you have any questions.
