Emerging Professionals Volunteer Event (Atlanta Community Food Bank)

Register for event

Volunteer with the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) and the USGBC Emerging Professionals in the fight to end hunger! Every day, food bank trucks pick up food from drives, grocery stores, and manufacturers and drop it off at the Product Rescue Center. Help us inspect, sort, and pack all food, which will be sent out to over 600 nonprofit partner agencies. There’s a small number of spots available, so register soon!

Parking: Driving through the main entrance (look for the big high sign with an orange peach logo), you’ll see the parking lot to your left (on a slight hill). After exiting your vehicle, look to your left for the fence-covered walkway (affectionately known as “the cage”) with the Product Rescue Center Volunteers sign. Follow the fenced walkway to the PRC door. We recommend carpooling!

Dress code: Closed-toed and closed-heeled shoes are required, with sneakers or work boots recommended. Flips flops, sandals or heeled shoes are not allowed. Please wear comfortable clothing you do not mind getting a bit rumpled.

What to bring: Bring as many nonperishable items as you can! Every 1 in 5 Georgians are at risk of hunger - just two cans per volunteer can provide 2,750 additional meals every month. Click here for our full list of most needed food items.

Please contact Shira Weintraub, Co-Chair of the USGBC Georgia Atlanta Emerging Professionals, at shiraweintraub@gmail.com or (310) 975-4158 if you have any questions.
