Green building — also known as green construction or sustainable building — refers to both a structure and the application of processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life cycle: from planning to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and demolition.

Visit new and remodeled properties that highlight the latest innovations in green design and healthy homes strategies. On-site will be homeowners, builders, suppliers and home technology experts to help answer questions.

Register now for the tours to reserve your spot. Tickets are $5 per person, free for students.

Registered attendees will receive an email on the afternoon of Aug. 18 with a list of home addresses. The tours will take place Aug. 19 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Celebration
Help celebrate five years of USGBC Utah's Green Homes Tour series, and recognize the volunteers who have helped support the event during our street party with BBQ from 2-3 p.m. at Living Zenith (1172 S. 400 E. SLC 84111).

The Green Homes Tour is part of the "Good to be Green" events in August, presented by USGBC Utah.
