Join USGBC Detroit Region as we show an online webinar to learn about implementing the LEED v4 rating system via case study examples, while providing an overview of the changes between LEED 2009 and LEED v4. In this one-hour video course, attendees will hear from building owners and LEED experts about the decision making process behind their use of LEED v4.

We will examine real and perceived barriers to adoption of this latest and most rigorous version of LEED, and provide strategies for turning these obstacles into opportunities. This course is intended for those who have some experience with the LEED rating system, and are familiar with the basic concepts of LEED 2009 credits. It outlines the overarching changes to LEED v4, with a focus on LEED BD+C.

Learning objectives

  • Explain the recent changes in structure and content to the LEED v4 rating system to their clients and colleagues in order to create more energy efficient and healthy buildings.
  • Analyze implications of strategies for certification if a team moves a project from LEED 2009 to LEED v4.
  • Assess a real LEED project using the LEED v4 rating system.
  • Embrace the changes of LEED v4 and have confidence that high levels of certification are achievable.
