Welcome the fall at USGBC National Capital Region by sharpening your knowledge of the “latest and greatest achievements” in LEED credits taught by our industry experts.

Members will learn applications of a variety of credits across LEED ratings for new and existing buildings, and interiors.

LEED AP BD+C, O+M and ID+C holders will have the opportunity to earn LEED-specific continuing education (CE) credits toward their credential maintenance requirements, and industry practitioners will have in-depth discussion on the technical applications of the credits. LEED AP credential holders highly encouraged to attend.

Are you a practitioner in Operations and Maintenance of existing buildings looking for industry experiences with Green Cleaning policies? LEED AP O+M looking to gain meaningful understanding of credit achievement under Indoor Environmental Quality category’s green policy pre-requisite, and Green Cleaning credits in Products and Materials, Equipment, and Custodial Effectiveness Assessment?

The focus will be on learning about cleaning staff programs in existing buildings and implementation practices as well as green cleaning faciliy monitoring procedures. Best practices for setting up a successful policy will be shared. The course will also focus on methods to review purchasing policies and inventories of cleaning products and equipment, and how to set up evaluation procedures and tools for a successful green cleaning program.

Course objectives

  • Identify the key components of Green Cleaning.
  • Understand the necessary facility management policy components to ensure a successful Green Cleaning Program.
  • Understand the evaluation and monitoring procedures and tools.
  • Explore implementation of these elements for success.
  • Understand the credits associated with Green Cleaning and the LEED O+M rating system.
