Explore the LEED v4 rating systems from the manufacturer's perspective, and gain key insights in product selection.

In this one-hour course, the participant will evaluate the contributions of building products to successful outcomes of green building projects. Explore the LEED v4 Rating Systems from the manufacturer's perspective to gain critical insight when it comes to product selection and what to expect from "LEED-savvy" manufacturers. Conclude with a review of the literature and tools that manufacturers can utilize to increase their chances of being selected for use in green buildings.

Learning objectives

  • Describe the evolving role of product manufacturers in supporting LEED projects
  • List the primary LEED v4 credits associated with building products
  • Avoid common pitfalls and misstatements when communicating the sustainability benefits of building products
  • Assess current and future opportunities to increase product contributions toward LEED certification

Continuing education hours — Attendees can earn one LEED specific continuing education hours for their LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP ID+C, LEED AP O+M, LEED AP ND or LEED AP Homes credentials. One AIA LU/HSW also is available for attendees.
