"Lunch and Learn: Improving the Student Experience - Achieving Energy Efficiency and IEQ in Existing Minneapolis Public School Facilities"

Governmental units with multiple existing facilities in Minnesota are seeking to reduce energy use as they upgrade and renovate their buildings. Minneapolis Public Schools is significantly reducing energy use while improving indoor environmental quality for their staff and students through a program of renovation and strategic additions to their existing facilities. This presentation will examine how the policies, planning, and budgeting have driven the design, construction, and operation of these renovated facilities. Case studies will be presented with outcomes compared to SB 2030, LEED, previous energy use, predicted energy use, and actual energy use.
