Every word in your curtain wall specification can have important consequences. Do you know how to properly specify testing and performance requirements? Sealants and accessories? Finishes and tolerances? Using MasterSpec's Section 084413 "Glazed Aluminum Curtain Walls" as an example, we will review a non-proprietary aluminum curtain wall specification section line-by-line and explain in simple language what it means.

We will review a non-proprietary curtain wall specification and discuss in detail the following: related requirements, allowances, preinstallation meetings, submittals, quality assurance and testing, mockups, warranties, performance requirements, framing, glazing systems, spandrel panels, entrances, accessories, fabrication, finishes, installation, erection tolerances, and field quality control.

At various points audience members will be asked to discuss how they specify the various aspects of curtain walls and how their own firms' specs differ or enlarge on the example shown.

InstructorJoseph Berchenko AIA, CSI, CCS, Director MasterSpec Specifications and Head of Content Creation for ARCOM, is a Certified Construction Specifier with over 30 years' experience as a licensed professional Architect.

Continuing education credits and a light lunch will be provided. Must register to attend.
