Outdoor Airflow Control Improves Building IEQ
PE’s: 1.0 PDH
LEED-AP’s: 1.0 GBCI LEED-Specific Hour BD+C
Architects: 1.0 AIA/CES (LU) Hour

Management and control of Outdoor Air (i.e. ventilation) is critical to ensuring a productive and healthy indoor environment. It is required by building codes, industry standards and is recognized by LEED 2009 with the available NC IEQ Credit.

The unmanaged introduction or improper control of Outdoor Air is wasteful and expensive. This course demonstrates the performance and economical advantages of directly measuring and controlling outdoor air intake versus the traditional approach of relying upon a fixed outdoor air damper position. Design guidelines are provided to assist in optimizing systems by using direct airflow monitoring and control. Selection criteria are presented for outdoor airflow monitoring applications and key information is presented on how to apply for LEED 2009 NC IEQ Credit 1 –Outdoor Air Delivery Monitoring using the LEED online template.

The goal of the course is to improve indoor building environments, building pressurization control and improving energy economy. The target audience for the course includes consulting engineers, contractors, owners, facility managers, code officials, architects and LEED project managers with basic knowledge of HVAC systems.

Ask about a special invitation to EBTRON training seminar and Professional Continuing Education Forum that provides up to 9 PDH Credits and is New York PE approved. This is a comprehensive two-day, hands-on workshop.
