The facility treats, via anaerobic digestion, organic slurry from more than 10 food production facilities located in Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, alleviating environmental burdens caused by other waste disposal practices, and produces a residual solid byproduct (residual solids) requiring management and diversion from landfill. The anaerobic digestion (AD) produces methane biogas that fuels two 1.0 MW generators to produce a total of approximately 2.0 MW gross electrical power output, which is sold to We Energies. The heat is captured from the engines and transferred back to the adjacent FCPC casino and hotel.

Wear clothing that you aren’t too fond of, as the odor of the biodigester may stick to your clothing. Also, shoes should not be open toed.

Meet the group at 2011 W Potawatomi Circle. Drive through the gate (it will be up) and come around to the back of the biodigester.
