The way that buildings are designed, constructed and maintained impacts the way we sleep, what we eat and how we feel.

The WELL Building Standard uses innovative, research-backed strategies to advance health, happiness, mindfulness and productivity in our buildings and communities. During this event, you will have the exciting opportunity to tour a building in the Documentation stage of WELL Certification with fellow green building professionals.

The Colorado Health Foundation is focused on helping Coloradans live their healthiest lives by advancing opportunities to pursue good health and achieve health equity, through grantmaking, policy and advocacy, strategic private investments, and convening to drive change. Recently, they moved to 1780 Pennsylvania Street and decided to build a new office building that encompased the work that they do. The new building features "health-positive" design and development standards that strive to improve the health of both staff and visitors.

The new headquarters is a three-story building of approximately 32,500 square feet, with direct access to outdoor areas via rooftop decks and/or gardens. In addition, the design has 17,500 square feet of below-grade parking, visually appealing construction materials and an inviting experience for pedestrians and local residents in its efforts to conform to the neighborhood surrounding the site. The design was crafted with specific project guiding principles and "health-positive" building metrics in mind, including natural ventilation and daylight.

In alignment with the Foundation's mission, Davis Partnership Architects designed the building with specific guiding principles that promote employee and visitor health, creating a healthy workplace that focuses on stewardship and sustainability. Additionally, Saunders Construction implemented a workplace wellness program in order to create a healthy work environment for all contractors throughout construction.

Learn more about this iconic building on August 24. There will be a one-hour presentation led by the LEED and WELL Consulting Team, YR&G plus a one hour tour. Registration is limited, so register quickly.
