USGBC Iowa Sustainable Community Bike Tour

Join our USGBC Iowa community for a leisurely bike tour and talk featuring Des Moines sustainability efforts. 

The tour will focus on learning more about the eight LEED rating categories as they relate to our six tour sites. USGBC Iowa members and design professionals will provide information about the buildings to guide the participants in learning more about the LEED rating system as they relate to the specific buildings and their features. 

• Get to know your city! Experience the benefits of sustainable design. 
• Learn how to tune up your bike/ riding safety. 
• Explore the LEED certification process and levels of certification. 
• Distinguish the 7 impact categories which are the guiding principles to the LEED rating system. 
• Briefly visit incredible, green-built, local buildings and sites. 

Bikers will start and finish at our host site: Pigott Inc. 3815 Ingersoll. 

Items to bring: Bike, helmet, tennis shoes, water (16+ oz. recommended), ID.
