This presentation will address how you can use the Existing Buildings rating system to improve building operations and maintenance, while generating strong ROIs. From retro-commissioning and food purchases to green cleaning, attendees will learn about the broad range of metrics associated with certification, plus project case studies.

Learning objectives

  • Provide guidance to prospective owners, facility managers or others interested in LEED for Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Certification and define the impacts and challenges associated with implementing LEED-EBOM.
  • Realize how the pursuit of LEED-EBOM certification can allow an Owner understand the actual operating performance of their facility after its initial occupancy, while identifying opportunities to improve energy performance using retro-commissioning and an energy assessment.
  • Define the optimum approach for implementing a LEED-EBOM project, including engagement of the key team members in the certification process.
  • Review a project case study highlighting sustainable project features and identifying costs and savings.

Continuing education hours — Attendees can earn one LEED specific continuing education hours for their LEED AP O+M credential.
