This two-hour introductory workshop will bring awareness and understanding for the WELL Building Standard to a broad audience. The organization and development of the standard is presented in the context of the health and wellness movement in the building industry.

Key public health research is discussed to provide a basis to the seven WELL Concepts, some research on the value of WELL, the argument for health and wellness in the built space, and how the standard is applied.

Lunch will be included.

Audience level: 100-Level: general audiences

Continuing education hours: Will be available for GBCI (2.0 CEU) and AIA (2.0 LU) educaiton credits

Learning objectives:

  • Identify environmental factors which influence human health and well-being
  • Describe the structure of the WELL Building Standard, including the certification process and the key differentiators.
  • Explain the intent of each WELL Concept and identify key themes which underpin WELL Features.
  • Discuss the business case for WELL.
