Join the USGBC Colorado Southern Community at our annual Wintergreen event on March 13th at Ivywild School. Come enjoy food, drinks, networking and a presentation by Alyssa Weber, lighting control department manager at Visual Interest.

Alyssa will present Practical Integration for Intelligent and Energy Efficient Buildings:

With the industry buzzing about IoT and intelligent buildings, there is a lot of discussion about the future of technology in buildings. Although these are exciting topics, we will be taking a step back from the buzz-words to discuss how we can help make our buildings more intelligent right now, and in a practical and budget-friendly way.

Utilizing the power of integration, we can increase energy efficiency, gain valuable information about our buildings, improve the human experience in the built environment, streamline equipment and maintenance, and provide cohesive user interfaces for building operators. Attendees will learn the basics of the various systems that can be leveraged to improve energy efficiency in buildings, such as lighting control, BAS/mechanical control, shades, and audio/video systems. We will discuss how energy code and standards such as LEED and WELL impact the building system designs and performance. We will learn how we can make our buildings more intelligent by implementing integration between these various systems, and how these strategies result in energy savings and an improved occupant experience.
