one-line synopsis: Overall general introduction to GG rating system - multifamily specifics are discussed in a bit more detail.

pros: Unbiased presentation with clearly presented information.

cons: Visuals left a little something to be desired. More tangible examples of multifamily certifications and how the rating system differs to LEED would be appreciated).

ideal audience: Professionals familiar with LEED, who may work on a GG multifamily project or are considering other rating systems for financing.

other thoughts: Understandable why the GG is hesitant to constantly compare itself to LEED, but given that this presentation is part of the USGBC training program, it's clearly targeted at people at least familiar with LEED as a rating system and the purpose of this class seems to be offering GG as an alternate. For those reasons I think more direct comparisons / contrasts would be greatly appreciated and valuable. There were several examples alluded to that proved to be the most interesting parts of the presentation, to me at least.

Green Globes is fast growing certification supported by many government agencies as well as in private sector.
I appreciate USGBC for taking leed and acting as a global leader in promoting Green Building intitiatives.
Multifamily buildings has more share in Green Globe certification and spreading the green building concepts
among the home buyers, people, industry and community.
The course has very good information about the incentive loan programs offered by financial agencies including government.
Green Globes does not have any pre-requisites and encourage community participation with innovative ideas.
Green Globes has more ease and flexibility in terms of certification process.
with its ease of market and public out reach potential Green Globes will become more popular in coming days.
I strongly recommend this course to the whole green build community and industry including home buyers.

I would encourage current LEED AP's to take a serious look at Green Globes. I have found it to be faster--particularly the EB program, primarily as a result of the elimination of the dreaded Performance Period. I have found it to be more relative to front-line and facility management personnel because of their "Yes/No" format that is more pertinent to the facility management team. GSA, State of Nevada and others are now recognizing Green Globes as the equivalent to LEED. I had my doubts, but I must say that I have enjoyed applying Green Globes and I believe my clients were more engaged as a result of the straight-forward approach.

This is a good quality intro course on Green Globes. The course is easy to understand and peeks your interest to learn more. If you are a developer, owner, or a design professional who focuses on mixed use or multifamily, this intro is worth your time.
