Both Part 1 and Part 2 of Biophilic Design for Healthcare relates the impact and importance the natural environment has on all of us, not only in Healthcare, but in our lives everyday.

How long will it take to incorporate this wisdom into design, construction and operation of health care facilities?

LEED Specialist, U.S. Green Building Council

Hi Michael, as with other new knowledge, it takes time, more in existing buildings than in new designs.

This course is the second in a two-part series on biophilic design in healthcare. The course began by describing several research studies that documented the benefits of biophilia in healthcare settings. Then proceed to reinforce the concepts through three case studies in varied geographical locations. The webinar can be watched as a series or as a stand-alone course as I did. The content was organized and straightforward, which is appropriate for the basic level. The audio was clear and the speaker was easy to understand. It would have been helpful if the supplemental materials included references of all the studies that were mentioned. I would recommend this course for students, educators, or practitioners in the field of design or health.
Overall I’m giving this course 5 stars because I found it to be informative, well organized, and appropriate for the designated level.

Most decisions made about a structure directly relate to constructions cost. Utilizing Biophilic design can lower many of these costs long term. This training will benefits owners, the design team, and even patients/users of a building. Whether you are building schools, hospitals, or even prisons, this presentation can really help improve any structure through incorporation of natural elements. Not only does it present studies that show measurable results, but examples of real projects are also provided. The presentation is easy to follow, very visual, and is worth watching.

Another excellent course by GBRI.
As the second part of this series, it goes deeper into what is Biophilic Design, and explains how architects have included nature details into their design and all the studies that can prove that nature can help tremendously in healing patients. Not only in architecture, but by just incorporating little things like paintings and videos in a room, can help.
Very basic in terms, so everyone can understand and learn more about it.
Presents three case studies, very different but all of them an excellent example in Biophilic Design in Healthcare.

If you took the first course, you will be hooked and will want to see other courses in Biophilic Design.
