This is a very comprehensive and detailed course on benchmarking and Energy Star. While this is titled multifamily, the lessons apply to all buildings. The graphics and narration are top notch. If you are new to Energy Star or even want to familiarize yourself with details, this is a great place to start. There are just enough details to allow students to complete many of the tasks required to start an Energy Star Portfolio Manager account and input data required. Benchmarking is coming to a city near you and we need to be prepared as this is a driver for sustainability and energy efficiency.

Excellent course and don't let the course title dissuade you from taking this course because the content is well worth it. The information was outstanding, timely and relevant. Utilities not sharing data is a huge issue that affects several different industries. This course helped me to understand where to go to start to find data that is publicly shared and accessible. I hope that someone at the utility companies in Arizona will take note of this course and consider sharing information about energy use that is currently considered 'a privacy issue' to share and is kept a secret. I thought the quizzes were helpful to reinforce the learning and really liked being directed to the Energy Star website to test different zipcodes. It prompted me to see what was available in my area immediately after the course exercises - which sadly was no information. This course is worth taking for anyone who owns, operates, or sells multifamily buildings, government officials, utility companies, and utility commissions.

This basic level course is well paced and professionally presented. It achieves its learning objectives. The course video is not downloadable, so be sure that you have a good internet connection when you sit down to go through the course. The supporting resources are of high quality and useful for a property manager or owner that is interested in benchmarking a multifamily property.
