This course includes what it says. It seems more like something targeted to the middle or high school age group though, but anyone might learn something new.

This very a very basic course. It would be most appropriate for anyone that lives in a home but more specifically most beneficial for someone with no prior experience or knowledge related to the green building industry. I could also see this being appropriate for grade or middle school students. I liked that anyone could easily understand the content, however it was a little too basic for someone with a LEED AP background.

The course consists of reading a 10 page article which is good for visual learners but could be further enhanced with video and/or audio to reach more learners. I have been living life being conscious of waste for years, however my significant other does not share the same values. I am temped to share this article with him because handling waste does not really require that much more effort and we all need to do our part.

I rated the course with 3 stars because the content is simple and easy to understand but was not much more than an excerpt from a book and contains advertisements for other products/services.

Simple. It allowed me to go at my own pace and was a relief from the normal presentation where a slideshow runs.

Hello Erika, I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. I have brought the issue up to USGBC, in the meantime you can use the course reading link located under the additional resources section if you would like.

Also please note the material is in article format and not video format. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Quick, simple and straight forward course. Perfect for the average homeowner. Anyone could pick up this material read through it, understand it and begin to implement it in their home. For those looking for a little more information and other resources the material provides links to that. It also points you in the direction of where to find specific recycling facilities in your neighborhood.

Some professionals might quickly dismiss this Course in favor of something "more substantial". It would be a mistake.

I found this written Course to be both easily digestible and useful. The contents are clearly laid out and the article provides information that is widely relevant, whether the reader is a green building practitioner seeking knowledge to apply at work, or someone looking for ways to elevate environmental standards at home. In addition to recycling, course topics include composting kitchen waste, donating surplus items, and addressing the extensive challenges associated with e-waste. I was particularly glad that the article includes many practical tips, as well as references to additional resources.

My award of 4 Stars reflects my opinion that this Course is Very Good. This could have been higher if the Course had included a narrative drawing connections with LEEDv4: including for Homes, Multifamily Mid-rise, and for Building Operations & Maintenance.
