I would give this a higher star rating if the video and picture was better. At parts I couldn't hear it. And it is so jerky at points that it gave me a headache. But it really interesting and amazing to see what they did!

Great accomplishment in a high heating requirement climate

Informative but stop moving the camera around so much and so quickly. I hit play and minimize the video and just listen to the audio to avoid getting sick. I realized the camerman can't keep it still for more than probably 5 seconds before it has to move even if the speakers are still standing still and talking.

This course is inspiring to anyone who desires to reduce footprint and actually know a zero energy home may exist!!

Some insight into achieving a net zero home

I thought the tour of the house was good and I enjoyed the material. The quiz. I felt, was unfair. You could not get the answers from the video presentation. You had to dig through the additional course resources, the LEED and Greenstar checklists, to find the answers. This course took me way longer than 1.5 hours to complete. I would watch this only if you don't need to take the quiz for CE credit. That said, the additional materials are very good in showing the elements required to create this type of house and the documentation required to submit for v4 Homes & Greenstar certification. In this regard I found this course valuable.

Amazing home and design process

Important data missing such as roofing, str. system materials, more details on cost and overall life cycle economics. Very chatty on some aspects for example a long discussion about the floor matt.

This is a very interesting course-tour of Hanson’s trending zero energy and LEED Platinum certified home. Great information about this very successful real case-study. The entire project team discusses key features and the process utilized at the project. It would have been a 5 star course, but a lot of additional work is needed to improve both audio and visual quality of the course.

Great expert presenters with very useful information about this real-world success story, unlike many other presentations that excel in arm-waving but produce few actual results. One of he best courses I've taken.
Would have easily been five stars, but audio volume is low and audio quality is barely intelligible during most segments. Try wireless microphones next time. Suggest revising by increasing volume of presenters to match level during course introduction. Most presenters are off-mic, which worsens intelligibility.

I really enjoyed the content.Specifically the information and discussion on materials specified for home, the ratings and explanation of the energy efficiency compared to average homes as well as the thoroughness of the walk-through of the home and surrounding exterior were what stood out. However, the shaky and often unfocused video was a very distracting, as well as dark at times, and the audio was too low at times.

Needed much better video work. Constant camera adjusting with no video stabilization was difficult to watch.

Straightforward, informative and interesting best describes the tour provided of the Hanson’s home. The integration of technological advances and how the homeowners desire to live today and in the future, is clearly detailed by the professional design team and the owners. In particular, their desire to be able to age in place. Removing thresholds to the shower and incorporating a level ready to be retrofitted for live-in help should it be needed, highlights a thoughtfully designed and built home.

A distraction from the quality of the information presented is the poor audio and video recording. Despite this, I still found the two-part recording and checklists to be greatly beneficial, especially for anyone considering pursuing a net zero energy home.

Platinum home appeared it was going to be good. It took a long while to start. Then it was hard to hear even though it was at full volume. There is a lot of back and forth talking from about six different people. The presentation was disappointing even if the information was good.

Fantastic case study. Wonderful effort.

This is a video tour of a net zero energy and LEED Platinum home. In this video you will meet the project team, learn about project goals, site selection and take a virtual tour of the home. This presentation discusses energy, water, site and material systems and gives an inside look at the potential health benefits of green home design. I recommend this presentation to anyone interested in net-zero residential design.

I would have given this presentation a higher rating but the audio and camera work quality could be improved and background noise is an issue, particularly at the beginning of the video.

Thank, you Summer. We have been improving our Facebook live tours and learning more as we go. We certainly have come a long way! There are always surprises when filming live, to be sure.
