Inquiry

We conform to most of the requirements of EQ Prerequisite 1 but it was found that some of them are not applicable to Hong Kong. In Section 5 of ASHRAE 62.1-2004 Systems and Equipment, it requires the installation of dehumidification (5.10), finned-tube coils and heat exchangers (5.12) and humidifiers and water-spray systems (5.13). Due to the hot and humid climate in Hong Kong it is not common to install them in the building and it is considered not environmentally sound to install them if they are not going to be used during the operation of the building. As thus, we ask for waiver for this requirement.
