Inquiry

Our project is a transportation facility currently under design at about 75% contract documents. The project is a single building with a non revenue vehicle/employee parking deck on 85% of the uppermost level (roof), with the remaining 15% being a non-parking, membrane roof area. On a previous CIR (SS 7.2 - 9/24/2001), the upper deck of a parking garage was considered a non-roof impervious surface. Please advise if the following strategy is acceptable to determine if we can achieve the credit requirements for SS7.1 and SS7.2: Strategy: 1. The roof-parking area (85%) will be included in calculations for SS7.1 - non-roof impervious surface area. 2. The membrane roof area (15%) will be the only area in consideration for SS7.2, Energy Star compliant roof.
