Inquiry

The subject building is LEED EB Pilot Program Platinum Certified with an Energy Star rating of 99. The building had undergone the commissioning process as a component of that Certification, and currently practices ongoing commissioning. The local utility company offered a program for retro commissioning, and the building requested being a part of the program to meet this credit. Based on a review by their third-party commissioning partner - including an analysis of our ongoing commissioning practices - and due to our energy usage of 7.1 kw/sf/yr versus average consumption of 19.95 kwh/sf/yr for comparable buildings in this area, the local utility company felt a retro commissioning would likely yield no productive results, and therefore we were removed from the program for these extremely positive factors. We request that these factors and our documentation of continuous commissioning practices be acceptable as an alternative method to comply.
