Inquiry

This project is seeking credit compliance under special circumstance. The project is a campus of residential housing facilities located on a military base. The project site is located within 1/4 mile of a bus stop for a single primary bus line that serves the entire base. This line, widely used by base personnel, provides access to all amenities on base including: shopping areas, restaurants, gym and fitness facilities, medical, dental, and military services as well as access to off-base civilian services. Only one bus line is allowed on base due to security reasons and all bus patrons entering the base are required to show proper identification, which can take months to receive. This line serves as a primary means of transportation for many of the residents of the housing project as many of the occupants do not bring personal vehicles on base. We are asking for alternative compliance to this credit as the project meets the intent of providing accessible means for public transportation, but does not have multiple bus lines available.
