Inquiry

Our project is situated on Liberty Island, where the only access to the island is via public ferry. The unloading point of the ferry on Liberty Island is within 300ft of the main entrance of the structure. The ferry operates from 7 days a week, from 9:30am to 5pm, and departs from Battery Park, located at lower Manhattan, every 30 minutes.\n\nThe ferry dock at Battery Park is within a 1/4 mile of two subway stops serviced by 3 different subway lines (1, R, and W). In addition, there are also 2 bus stops within a 1/3 mile that are served by three different lines (M01, M06, and M15).\n\nSince the project has been located on an island where the only access is by a public ferry, we feel that the intent to reduce pollution and land development impacts from automobile use is upheld. Please comment on the use of the public ferry as an acceptable alternative mode of transportation for achievement of this credit.
