Inquiry

California Title-24 treats low-rise multi-family buildings differently depending on the amount of space outside the unit. For buildings where the non-residential and residential-associated (e.g. corridors, foyers) spaces is less than 10%, the entire building is modeled as "residential" under Title-24. For buildings where the non-residential and residential-associated space exceeds 10%, two different models are created: one for the "residential" spaces and one for the "non-residential" spaces; these two different models include different assumptions, baselines, etc. Should the "Percentage better than Title-24" value that is calculated for EA 1 include only the data from the residential model, or the combination of data from both the residential and non-residential model?\n\n
