Inquiry
Intent: Channel development to urban areas with existing infrastructures, protecting greenfields and preserving habitat and natural resources Description: Based on the two calculations shown in the LEED Reference Guide that are required for the Urban Redevelopment Credit, this project does not meet the requirements for this credit. We do think that we meet the intent indicated: Channel development to urban areas with existing infrastructures, protecting greenfields and preserving habitat and natural resources. This project is basically a "cube" extending from the side of the Pentagon. Occupiable space at the Pentagon is 3,705,793 sq. ft. The entire building, including the center courtyard is 34 acres. Based on this, the development density is 108,993 sq.ft./acre. The entire Pentagon reservation site is 583 acres (this is entire Pentagon reservation site and not just the project site). No greenfields, habitat or natural resources are being disturbed by this project. Can we get a point for this credit?
