Inquiry

The guest rooms are expected to have at least some operable windows. This measure allows the HVAC equipment to be turned off or turned down in response to a guest opening their window. This reduces the loss of heating and cooling energy to the outdoors. A contact could be provided at each window able to send a signal to the control system indicating when a window is open or closed. Establish a setback temperature and reduced ventilation air, or simply turn-off the HVAC unit when the window is open. Can we receive an initial indication from the council on whether this measure is worth developing an alternative method of analysis for, that is, does the council agree there is a potential for eligible energy costs savings for these items?
