Exceptional Performance of SSc4.3: Alternative Fuel Vehicles The Institute of EcoTourism is committed to sustainability and teaching others through example. Because of our commitments and objectives, we have gone beyond the minimum requirements of LEED2.1 LEED 2.1 Credit 4.3 Alternative Transportation: Alternative Fuel Vehicles, requires alternative fuel vehicles for 3% of building occupants and provide preferred parking for these vehicles, OR install alternative-fuel refueling stations for 3% of the total vehicle capacity of the site. At the Institute of EcoTourism we have provided for: Alternative fuel vehicles for 3% of building occupants and provided preferred parking for these vehicles, AND installed alternative-fuel refueling stations for 3% of the total vehicle capacity of the site. Below please find our proposed Innovation in Design Equivalence process: INTENT: Reduce pollution and land development impacts from automobile use. REQUIREMENTS: Provide Alternative fuel vehicles for 3% of building occupants and provide preferred parking for these vehicles, AND installed alternative-fuel refueling stations for 3% of the total vehicle capacity of the site. SUBMITTALS: Provide the LEED letter template and proof of ownership of, or 2 year lease agreement for, alternative fuel vehicles and calculations indicating the alternative fuel vehicles will serve 3% of building occupants. Provide site drawings of parking plan highlighting preferred parking for alternative fuel vehicles. -And- Provide the LEED letter Template with specifications and site drawings highlighting alternative-fuel refueling stations. Provide calculations demonstrating that these facilities accommodate 3% or more of the total vehicle parking capacity. Because we have shown exceptional performance above requirements set by LEED 2.1 Credit 4.3, we are requesting the approval of an Innovation & Design Credit.
