Inquiry

Innovation Credit Inquiry for Exemplary Performance regarding Energy and Atmosphere Green Power Credit 6 (EAc6) Intent: Encourage the development and use of grid-source renewable energy technologies on a net zero pollution basis. Requirements: provide at least 50% of the building electricity from renewable sources by engaging in at least a two year renewable energy contract. Renewable sources are as defined by the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) Green-e product certification requirements. Exemplary Performance Definition for EAc6 - Green Power: double the positive environmental impact achieved by the project by purchasing twice the amount (100%) of grid-source green power for 2 years. A Project Manager\'s Ruling on 5/16/2003 for an Innovation Credit indicated "Doubling a LEED performance requirement is a good rule of thumb...". Credit Interpretation Request: Please advise whether demonstration of doubling the contribution from grid-source Green Power as defined in LEED Energy & Atmosphere credit 6 will qualify for an Innovation Credit.
